One Hundred Thousand Welcomes!

St. Patrick, established in July 1981, is part of the Metro North Region of the Diocese of Colorado Springs. Fr. John Slattery was the founding pastor, and was succeeded by Fr. Don Dunn, Fr. Don Brownstein, and Deacon Dick Brown. Fr. Bradford Noonan is the current pastor. From 30 families, St. Patrick has grown to 2200 registered families with 7000 members.

Sculpture

From its inception, St. Patrick has been known as a hospitable, caring, and giving community committed to Tithing - the sharing of our blessings with others. Hundreds of parishioners practice stewardship by volunteering their time and talent in parish and community ministries, councils, committees, and organizations. St. Patrick offers an extensive range of religious formation programs, from preschool through adult, a vibrant RCIA program, Stephen Ministry, Social Ministry programs, with an active Parish Life committee providing parishioners and visitors the opportunity to participate in many parish-wide celebrations and events. In December of 2004, St. Patrick completed its remodel and expansion of the existing church narthex, sanctuary and nave. In addition, the new St. Patrick Center for Formation and Mission, housing the faith formation and mission activities along with parish administrative offices was completed, bringing cohesiveness to all of the parish operations.

Take A Tour

As you approach St. Patrick’s, either from Brook Park Drive or from Dominion Way, you will immediately know you are about to enter a Holy and Sacred site. The main entrance is clearly identified by a tall, cross-topped Bell Tower and extensive landscaping. Four curb cuts, three on Brook Park Drive and one on Dominion Way, make it easy to enter and leave the site.

The Main Level

After crossing the canopied entrance courtyard, you will pass through beautiful wood and glass double doors and enter into a spacious vestibule. This vestibule is housed in a tall, very distinctive entrance tower, which serves as the hub of the complex. Immediately in front of you is another set of beautiful doors leading to the Fellowship Hall and Family Lounge, named for Bonnie Fitzpatrick whose land donation brought the parish to this site. This room is a wonderful area in which to congregate after Mass, have a small reception, a rosary service or a receiving line after a wedding. Also located in the “hub” area to the right is the elevator, which gives easy access to the lower level of the complex. To your left is the Narthex or Gathering Space. The Narthex serves as a transition zone. It allows parishioners to leave behind the hustle and bustle of the secular world to prepare for their entrance into God’s house. Located within the Narthex are the Vestry, the Sacristy, the Sign-In Room for Liturgical Ministers, two family restrooms and an entrance from the north parking lot, the stairway to the lower level and another entrance into the Bonnie Fitzpatrick Fellowship Hall. To your right is the Center for Formation and Mission (CFM). The Receptionist and Waiting Area on your left leading to 15 staff offices, a work Room, two storage rooms and 5 meeting rooms: Bishop Sheridan Room, Bishop Hanifen Room, the Pastors Room and the two Deacons Rooms. As you continue down the main corridor you will find rest rooms and the Father Bill Thro Library. The library is designed in such a way that it can serve as a very elegant Conference Room.

The Renovated Worship Space

A beautiful wall of etched glass separates the Narthex from the Nave. You enter the Nave through wood and etched glass doors and immediately pass under the first of three ceiling-high Celtic Crosses. You will then pass by the Baptistry. As you stand at the Baptistry you can view the entire Nave and Sanctuary and have a clear view of the Tabernacle in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel immediately behind the Altar. A ceramic tile center aisle will visually and actually connect the Baptistry, the Altar and the Tabernacle. As you walk into the Nave proper you will pass under the second ceiling-high Cross. To the right of the Sanctuary and Altar is a ramp that will provide easy access to the Sanctuary and Blessed Sacrament Chapel. The Chapel has chairs and kneelers for personal adoration. At the rear of the Nave are two Reconciliation Rooms, the Altar Servers’ Vestry and an Audio Visual Control Room.

Lower Level

By descending the existing main stairway in the Narthex you enter the area directly under the Nave and Sanctuary—the Mother Maria Teresia Bonzel Parish Social Hall. Mother Bonzel was the foundress of the sisters who are at Mount St. Francis. Our parish was blessed as one of our parishioners, Luke Burgie, has received a miraculous cure attributed to the intercession of our Lord and Mother Bonzel. This miracle was recently authenticated by the Vatican and is one of the two need miracles for canonization of Mother Bonzel. What an honor it is to have this attributed miracle here at our parish. Turning to the left you enter the CFM portion of the lower level you will pass by a large enviroment storage room. Proceeding forward directly under the parish offices, there is the Father Michael J. McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus, multipurpose room. A large meeting place great for large groups, seminars, showing movies or religious education activities. Moving ahead are 11 large formation meeting rooms, each named for a North American Saint or a blessed of our faith. (Monsignor Nelson H. Baker, V.G., St. Francis Cabrini, Father Damien DeVeuster, Blessed Rose Philippine Duchesne, St. John Nepomucene Neumann, The North American Martyrs, Isaac Jogues, Junipero Serra, Elizabeth Baylor Seton, Kateri Tekakwitha and Pierre Toussaint) Each room has a seating capacity of roughly 25. Each room has one 8-foot white board, two 4-foot tack boards, an emergency telephone, and is wired for future video and data. Two of the rooms are equipped with folding acoustical panels that permit the rooms to be expanded. Restrooms, storage rooms, a small snack room and a central Formation Reception Desk complete the formation complex. The Reception Desk serves as the central control point when classes are in session. Also on the lower level of the CFM, directly under the Parish Library, is the St. Cecilia Music Room where the various choirs can rehearse and practice. There is also a dedicated storage space for all the music programs serving our liturgy.

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His Hand.
